At MTC Training, we know how to balance hard work with a bit of fun, and the last few weeks have proved exactly that!
Celebrating Our First Thanksgiving!
On November 28th, we traded our keyboards and training materials for plates and cutlery as we came together for a special celebration: our very first Thanksgiving lunch! Why Thanksgiving, you might wonder? It all started with our American teammate, Emily, who inspired us to embrace this tradition and use it as a chance to connect over good food and shared stories. (Not that we ever need an excuse for a team meal!)
In the midst of our busy schedules filled with admin, meetings, and training, the team managed to pull off an impressive feast. The spread featured homemade pumpkin pie, cakes, chicken, and plenty of veggies to balance out the sweet indulgences. Emily gave us a glimpse into her childhood Thanksgivings in the States, sharing warm memories of family gatherings, traditions, and—of course—the abundance of food.
It was a great reminder of the importance of pausing to reflect on what we’re grateful for, and how special it is to embrace and learn from each other’s traditions. (Also, let’s not forget how delicious pumpkin pie can be when made with care!)
Festive Cheer: The MTC Christmas Do
Fast forward to December 6th, and we traded pumpkin pie for prosecco to celebrate the festive season at the MTC Training Christmas Do. Starting at The Firestation Bar in Sunderland, we enjoyed a relaxed evening of good drinks and great company before heading to Sorrento for a delicious Italian feast – carb-loading in preparation for the night ahead!
The evening reached its peak at one of Sunderland’s newest hotspots, The Three Stories. Let’s just say, by then, the festive cheer was in full swing, complete with plenty of questionable (but enthusiastic) dance moves.
Why These Celebrations Matter
Both events were more than just chances to eat, drink, and dance – they reminded us of the importance of coming together, celebrating diverse traditions, and taking time to connect outside of work. They showcased the strength of our team spirit and how a shared table (or dance floor) brings us closer.
Here’s to more moments of joy, laughter, and, yes, a bit of dancing in 2025!
