Health and Safety Measures

It is not an exaggeration to say that we are living in extraordinary and unprecedented times, not just in this country but across the world. As a University, we are faced with circumstances of a type, and on a scale, that none of us could have imagined.

To comply with the government’s guidance and to protect the health and welfare of clients, students, staff and other stakeholders, I am writing to confirm that there will be no face-to-face teaching or assessment at MTC Training, or any of the University of Sunderland’s three UK campuses – Sunderland City, Sir Tom Cowie Campus at St Peter’s, and the University of Sunderland in London.

We are currently working on alternative online delivery methods which we intend to roll out across MTC Training from 23rd March 2020.  The MTC team will make direct contact with individual employers and delegates with instructions for participating in on-line and virtual learning.

If you are unable to release staff to attend scheduled sessions via online training, we would be grateful if you could let us know by using one of the following email addresses:

 •       Short Courses –

 •       European Social Fund –

 •       Apprenticeships / Functional Skills –

In line with government advice, MTC staff will be working from home whenever possible from Monday 23rd March, with full access to the systems required to provide a seamless customer experience. All staff can be contacted using their personal email accounts, or via any of the email addresses above, should you have any queries or concerns.  If you would like to speak to a member of staff directly, please send an email, leaving your name and number and one of the team will call you back as soon as they are available.

Please be assured that we will continue to do everything we can to provide a high quality service and to keep you informed and up-to-date
