Business Administration Support Apprentice

Description of Duties

This role is office based, with travel required to workshops and meetings where necessary.

The candidate must be outgoing, friendly and positive in their approach with an appetite to develop their own skills as well as helping Boomerang Healthcare to grow and succeed.

Job Description / General Duties will/can include:

Responding to queries via telephone; this will include communicating with Care Staff, Service User’s/Service Users’ family members etc. where required.
Taking incoming calls / reception duties
Greeting and looking after visitors
Assisting with general administration duties. This may include filing, scanning, creating reports etc.
Assisting senior members of staff with ad-hoc duties
Dealing with post (incoming and outgoing)
Monitoring office inventory, such as stationary, water etc.
Typing and setting up documents such as letters and reports
Keeping computer records up to date.
Filing
Sorting of expense receipts and VAT return receipts for Accountants
Using office equipment such as printers and photocopiers
Managing staff appointments
Setting up meetings and taking minutes
Making travel arrangements for staff
Creating and maintaining spreadsheets and databases
Facilitation of training course registrations
Maintaining a clean and tidy working environment
Managing recycling (including shredding and secure disposal of paper based documents)
Arrange for stands to be delivered to sites and set up in readiness for exhibitions and workshops.
Preparation of business paperwork
Arranging refreshments for meetings and workshops
Looking after petty cash
Setting up new IT equipment
Liaising with external providers

Skills Required

Good verbal and written communication skills, both face to face and remotely
Ability to communicate effectively on the telephone.
Ability to work individually with little supervision but flag up issues promptly.
Pays attention to detail and owns issues to completion.
Shows initiative and make proposals for improvements.
Able to work to deadlines.
Good planning and organisation skills – able to multi-task
Commitment to achieve the required goals.
Adaptable and flexible – a “can do” attitude.

Ability to gather evidence required for the completion of the NVQ modules.
Positively give 100% towards the completion of their NVQ qualifications
Self-motivated and a willingness to learn both self-teaching and through the attendance of training courses.
