Human Resources Administrator (Apprentice)

Description of Duties

Working in collaboration with other HR Administrators, take responsibility for providing a robust and efficient HR administrative support in the delivery of key HR administration services including:

Accurate and timely production of documentation relating to all aspects of the employee lifecycle e.g., support for recruitment activity, contracts of employment, compliance with immigration requirements, induction, probation, changes to terms and conditions, fixed term contract monitoring etc.

Maintain accurate HR information in support of key HR administration services, including, entry of data onto the HR and Payroll system and maintenance of secure and confidential HR filing and e-file systems and archiving processes. Working closely with HR/Payroll Assistants to ensure consistent, timely and accurate completion for monthly deadlines

To provide efficient support to the HR Assistant team to assure accurate and timely HR service delivery including, running and formatting monthly reports, monitoring and processing renewals e.g., DBS and daily management of various HR inboxes

To provide general administration support to HR Business Partner(s) and the wider HR department as appropriate, e.g., booking rooms, photocopying and arranging meetings, including attendance at meetings and minute taking as and when required

Contribute to the development of processes and procedures that support areas of own remit to align to existing, changing and future University processes. Accountable for accurate and consistent application of established HR working practices/ processes

Skills Required

Essential Knowledge and Experience:
An understanding of the importance of delivering a proactive and diverse administration service
An understanding of the importance of delivering exceptional customer service
Experience of using IT systems and Microsoft Office

Desirable
Qualifications and Professional Memberships:
A good standard of basic education including English and Mathematics to GCSE Grade C or equivalent

Knowledge and Experience:
Experience of delivering a proactive and diverse administration service, preferably including HR
Proven experience of delivering exceptional customer service and ability to tailor approach and style to a variety of stakeholder groups
Experience of identifying and developing working practice improvements

There are no entry qualification requirements, however, applicants must be assessed by the Apprenticeship provider to ensure they will be able to generate the required evidence to achieve the Apprenticeship programme.
