Course changes as Microsoft moves to Azure Certification - 15th March 2022

MTC Training are at the forefront of accredited IT Training in the North East and as such provide a full range of Microsoft courses delivering training in everything from Desktop Apps right through to Server Administration.

Microsoft have recently announced a new wave of changes covering Powershell, Power BI and T-SQL.

We have the low down on what these changes mean for you:

Windows Powershell allows users to administer and automate Windows servers. Replacing the 10961 course the new AZ-040T00 builds on the content of the previous course and adds some extra functionality around Microsoft 365 and Azure.

Describe the functionality of Windows PowerShell and use it to run and find basic commands.

Identify and run cmdlets for local system administration.

Work with the Windows PowerShell pipeline.

Use PSProviders and PSDrives to work with other forms of storage.

Query system information by using WMI and CIM.

Work with variables, arrays, and hash tables.

Create basic scripts in Windows PowerShell.

Administer remote computers with Windows PowerShell.

Manage Azure resources with PowerShell.

Manage Microsoft 365 services with PowerShell.

Use background jobs and scheduled jobs.

Power BI

If you use data in your organisation (and really who doesn’t) then there’s a strong case to be made for using Windows Power BI. Data analytics is fast becoming a must-have skill set, and this is demonstrated in the fact that MTC Training is running this training with full courses on a monthly basis. The new PL-300T00 makes it easier for businesses to engage with the training, reducing the courses duration from 4 days to 3.

Ingest, clean and transform data

Model data for performance and scalability

Design and create reports for data analysis

Apply and perform advanced report analytics

Manage and share report assets

Create paginated reports in Power BI

For businesses operating in the North East of England this course may be available funded as part of North East Workforce Skills, an ESF funded programme operating across the region.

Transact SQL

Transact SQL is Microsoft’s unique dialect of Structured Query Language and this course allows users to write queries in T-SQL. The duration of new course DP-080T00 has been reduced to 2 days making it friendlier for IT professionals to access without the work mounting up in the background.

Use SQL Server query tools

Write SELECT statements to retrieve columns from one or more tables

Sort and filter selected data

Use built-in functions to returned data values

Create groups of data and aggregate the results

Modify data with Transact-SQL using INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE and MERGE
